Voltage
There are two residential voltages available 120 & 240 volts
120 volts will provide 500 to
1500 watts of heat
240 volts
has more power - capable of providing from 1000 watts to 10,000
watts of heat.
- Over the years the power companies have been raising the
voltage to your home or office.
- 110 volts, 115 volts, 120 volts, 125 volts all four voltages
will work with the same heater
- 220 volts, 230 volts, 240 volts, 250 volts all four voltages
will work with the same heater
- NOTE: 208 volts is NOT the same as 240 volts it’s a total
different voltage.
How Much Heat do I
Need?
(Rule of Thumb)
Between 12-15
Watts per Square Foot (12 for warmer climate’s 15 for colder)
Example 10’ x 12’
room = 120 Square Feet
120 Sq Ft x 12 =
1440 watt heater
Heating appliances
Fan Forced Wall Heater – Needs a fan to move the heat
Pro: Heats the room quick
Con: Motorized Fan Makes Noise
Convector Wall Heater - No fan needed
Pro: Silent
Con: Larger
width & height only available as surface mounted, takes longer
to heat the room
Ceiling Heater – With fan
Pro: Perfect when wall space
is at a premium or small bathroom
Con: Needs wall
thermostat or timer, does not work at its optimum capacity in
high ceilings [over 9 ft]
Baseboard - No Fan
Pro: Silent, low
profile
Con: requires
wall space need to heat room, & slow to heat room
Bulb Heaters - Infrared Radiant Heat
Pro: High
intensity heat under light bulbs
Con: Room is
cold once you step away from “spotlight”
Exhaust Fan with heater
Pro: Prices savings with 3-1 unit
Con: Not as efficient as a separate
exhaust fan or separate heater
Heating Hours of
Operation
Do you want
to heat the room all day or just in the morning while you have
your shower?
- If you plan on just
running the heater in the morning, we recommend a fan forced
wall heater or bulb heater
- If you want heat
the bathroom all day, convector, baseboard or fan force
heaters will work best
Controls
- Built In Thermostat
- All our fan
forced heaters come with a built in thermostat and our
baseboards have it as an additional option. Built in
thermostats let you control the power and the temperature right at the heater.
-
Timers
-
Wall mounted
spring wound timers can be installed in single or
multi gang box next to a light switch or by it self on the wall
-
Wall Mounted Thermostats
-
Our heaters work on "LINE VOLTAGE" wall mounted thermostats
-
There are three
types that we
sell:
-
Mechanical ( Simple knob - turn to the right and power goes on and you adjust the temperature
- Digital Non Programmable ( Digital screen where you manually
adjust the temperature
-
Digital
Programmable Digital Screen, can set room temperature by time of
day - and can select different settings for
different days)
- On / Off Toggle
Switch
- The On/ Off
toggle switch is only recommended for the Aero Pure exhaust fan
w/ infrared bulb heater because the toggle switch comes
with the fan.
